Gutermann elastic thread is a shirring elastic for use in the bottom bobbin only. Create decorative smocking, shirring, and gathering on necklines, cuffs, waistlines and panels, to give shape and stretch to garments. Elastic thread can also be used in knitting and crochet projects.
For machine sewing, hand wind the elastic thread on the bobbin, use regular thread in the needle, stitch on a slow speed to prevent snagging.
